New games are fun and all that, but how hard is it tocraft a new setting and balancethe need for it to be familiarwhile still allowing players todive right into the wonder andexcitement of exploration?
Havenvale is a little anti-adventure written to square that circle. It is an isolated mountain valley of boring pastoral people who hid away from the great catastrophe the world was heading to so they could live a simpler life. They don’t really have records of the outside world, they merely know it is bad. It has been generations upon generations, and even oral history has become a tattered incoherent mess when it comes to the outside world. You can plug it into any mountain range in pretty much any setting.
